I had played on a couple of tracks by Hamza Namira before he got me to play on this track he was producing for Humood AlKhuder.
I often have no idea what happens to tracks that I play bass on via my online recording service (although I always want to know!). If I do a session in an actual studio (yes that does still just about happen) I’ll be physically interacting with the artist, producer and engineer.
I didn’t even know who this track was for. When I asked Hamza, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the video has reached nearly 78 million views.
Hamza wanted this recorded at 48kHz and I used my trusty 78 P bass. This is a true example of why I love online sessions: I’m in London recording a bass line for an Egyptian producing a Kuwaiti pop star.
