You only pay once you’re happy with your delivered files. If it’s not up to expectation – you keep your cash, no questions asked!
I don’t watermark the files or ask for a deposit before the client receives them. I get the brief, communicate with the client, record the bass and email the bass recordings straight back.
This is highly unusual for this line of work. However, I’ve been doing this for nearly 10 years now.
Lots of friends and colleagues have told me I’m mad for doing this but the reason is simple. Trusting someone you’ve never met or worked with to deliver a quality bass recording over the internet is a big ask. I offer this guarantee to remove any element of risk a new client may have.
I know it works as I am honoured to say I have scores of very happy clients!
From my point of view, trust works both ways and in playing on over a thousand tracks I’ve only dealt with 4 people who have taken my files and run. It wasn’t pleasant for me but the relationships I have built with the rest of the musicians I work with are so special, it’s worth the slight risk on my side.
Trust, good communication and an exciting creative working relationship are the most valuable qualities to find in any online collaborator. Dealing with freelancers from various sites, I know from first-hand experience that finding quality people is not easy.
So I aim to be able to deliver the goods musically whilst being professional and easy to deal with. I want it to be a no-brainer for any potential client!
